Mumbai, March 12 -- Salaam namastey my natkhat nuggets! How begins your weekend? Mine started off great for, for I'm flying off to the Maldives. A saheli of mine has decided to celebrate her birthday there, so I'm all the more glad to be away from the shor-sharaba of the shaher.
But before I get away, read on for your dose of daily goss.
For starters, a patrakaar pal wants me to hear this dope on Sujoy Ghosh, director of Vidya Balan's forthcoming film, Kahaani. Seems he - the niredeshak, not my reporter, sillies - is breathing fire at reports that his film is inspired by Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill.
Reacting to queries about being inspired by the Hollywood movie toplining Uma Thurman, Ghosh thundered: "F@ Tarantino. Who is this f@ing Tarantino. He can come and s@ my c@. I don't need to copy Tarantino. If I need to copy someone, I'd rather copy Satyajit Ray, Ramesh Sippy or Manmohan Desai." Tauba tauba, what language is this!
Expressing anger at the buzz, which has been going around for quite a while, Ghosh declared, "My movie is about a pregnant woman looking for her husband. Kill Bill is a revenge drama and my film has no connection with it. I don't know why people are saying it's a copy of Kill Bill." Point noted Mr Ghosh. Take a chill pill and relax. We know better to not insinuate your inspirations.
More so because after Aladin, you've earned a reputation of killing the great memories of the original. Tee hee.
