SRK calls truce with Farah Khan

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, June 9 -- Shah Rukh Khan has finally ended his animosity towards director-choreographer Farah Khan. At a public event, the actor complimented her, saying, "It is one of the nicest things to work with someone (Farah) of that caliber, energy, belief and determination."

Speaking at the launch of colleague Kanika Dhillon's debut novel Bombay Duck Is A Fish, the actor pointed out that working under Farah was akin to "getting the finest tutelage in the country".

According to him, Dhillon, who co-wrote the script for RA.One, learnt the ropes of the industry while assisting Farah on Om Shanti Om (2007).

SRK, Farah, former friends, had allegedly fallen out of each other's good books last year when they disagreed over the script of the now-shelved Happy New Year, in which SRK was to play the lead. The rift widened when Farah cast Akshay Kumar over SRK in Tees Maar Khan (2010) and Joker, which is currently being filmed by Farah's husband Shirish Kunder. Shah Rukh responded by replacing her with choreographer Ganesh Hegde for his home production RA.One. When informed, Farah insisted she hadn't heard of Shah Rukh's praise. Though she admitted, "I am sure if he has said nice things about me, they must be true. I am happy about that."

Asked if this new development has ended the tension between them, she retorted acidly, "Both Shah Rukh and I are fed up of answering these questions. I can't focus my whole life on who has said what about me. It's an old story. We already made up five months ago."

Apparently, the two broke the ice when they met briefly at an awards function in January, though Farah confirmed that they haven't met or spoken since. When asked if these incidents caused her pain, she said, "Life is too short to remain hurt. I am happy, doing a lot of television shows, working on a fantastic script and spending all my free time with my children. I am not upset with anybody."

Having already stated that she would never work with SRK again, Farah remained non-committal on the subject. She said, "I have nothing to say about whether SRK and I will work together. I can't see the future, I'm not Nostradamus."
