Mumbai, May 26 -- A parinda from Lokhandwala Complex has just dropped in to tell me that actor Sonu Sood has been practicing cricket at the Andheri Sports Complex these days. For those interested, Jodhaa ka bhaisa is not switching careers, but getting ready for a couple of celebrity matches.
First is a charity match for Salman Khan's Being Human foundation in Dubai. Yeah, Sallu's XI will play against the Pakistan cricket team later this week. And then for Bollywood's XI against the Sri Lankan team in Colombo for IIFA early next month.
I'm told that before he ventured into acting, Sonu was a cricketer and played for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy.
But that was 18 years ago. And now that he's been out of touch with the game, he's polishing his cricketing skills with some locals at the sports complex. After all this practice, khabru is hoping that Sonu doesn't get bowled out without hitting any fours or sixes. Tsk tsk.
