MUMBAI, Dec. 1 -- Actor Ranbir Kapoor was in the capital shooting for filmmaker Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. On Sunday, he spent several hours shooting at Connaught Place's Central Park.
In the sequence that day, Kapoor, who plays a musician called Jordan in the film, was seen performing for hundreds of students at a concert in Central Park.
College-goers, largely from Ali's alma mater Hindu College, formed the crowd. Basant Jha, a DU student who gathered the huge number, says, "Anything for Imtiaz; he is one of us. Everyone wanted to co-operate because he is our senior. And who wouldn't want to be a in a scene with Ranbir Kapoor?"
A day earlier, the RK scion was in Saket to shoot a party sequence at the restaurant, Buzz, in MGF Metropolitan Mall. Scene and heard Sources say that Ali chose to film at the particular restaurant since he's good friends with the owners. While shooting started at 6.30 am, the mood inside the restaurant reflected an evening party, with several junior artistes decked up for their respective minor parts, and the restaurant staff serving cocktails and appetisers.
Kapoor arrived at 9 am, in his Rockstar avatar - harem pants, a lumberjack shirt and a leather jacket. He kept stepping out of the restaurant, pacing about the mall, muttering his lines to himself and getting his hair touched up.
He was also spotted sipping on cola and coffee from a nearby coffee shop, and joking with the spot boys. In the scene that was shot, Kapoor is seen as a reluctant rockstar, whom everyone wants to have a photograph with. Everyone in the restaurant posed with him. Kapoor, unlike his grim character, was pretty sweet with his fans. Shooting wrapped up at 1.00 pm, after which the crew moved to the bungalow of a prominent business tycoon. According to sources in the unit, the entire crew will be in and around Delhi till January.
