Mumbai, March 7 -- Designer Manish Arora, known for his funky designs, literally created some magic on the runways of Paris. Arora, 38, who showcased his collection on Wednesday at the ongoing Paris Fashion Week, collaborated with a Russian illusionist to perform for his show.

The models appeared and disappeared from a glass case as they showcased his Autumn/Winter collection, inspired by magic dolls.

The bling, sequinned and patchwork crafted and tailored with finesse kept the Indian flavour alive. There were his famous bell-shaped skirts and body-con dresses in cheery hues. Arora managed to wow the audiences and the international fashion press, alike with his quirky act.

British newspaper Telegraph's fashion editor Hillary Alexander wrote, "They say that sometimes fashion happens as if by magic. And then there are times when it really is magic."

The Canadian Press wrote, "When you are Manish Arora, each season, you got to raise the bar. The Indian designer took Paris by storm with sculpture-sprouting collections that were unlike almost anything else out there." Washingtonpost.com reported, "There was plenty of drama on the runway from the collection by India's inventive Manish Arora."

Closer home, designer Anupama Dayal says, "He allows his shows to be entertaining without compromising on the kitsch spirit of India." Designer Falguni Peacock says, "Manish's show was all about creative madness." Raghavendra Rathore echoes, "Manish makes for a perfect ambassador of India." Rina Dhaka adds, "His cutting edge talent will take him places."
