New Delhi, June 13 -- While actress Katrina Kaif shed the grease paint for Raajneeti, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is sans make-up in Raavan. Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor, too, who glammed up for their roles last year, will now be seen in no-makeup avatars this time round.

Padukone's got the look for Ashutosh Gowariker's Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se, based on a book on the Chittagong uprising. "I play a freedom fighter in the film and Ashutosh had to portray me the right way. You don't always have to wear glamorous clothes to pull off a role," she says.

Talking about Ash's look in Raavan, a unit member says, "Throughout the film, she's seen running through the jungles, so it was essential to have a no make-up look to highlight the pain and agony."

"When I heard about the project, I didn't even think about the make up," says Kaif, who's optimistic that the audience will like her just as much even without makeup.

Kareena Kapoor has also gone de-glam for the adaptation of Stepmom, and designer Manish Malhotra has admitted he worked extra hard to make her seem like an ordinary working woman. "I walk, talk and dress like an ordinary working girl. I'll be using no makeup," says Bebo. Priyanka Chopra, too, has a minimalist look in Vishal Bhardwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf. Bipasha Basu who plays a Kashmiri girl in Lamha says, "It's a good feeling when people accept you for who you are, and not the projected you. One needs to be confident about one's skin to pull off a no-makeup look," she says.
