Mumbai, July 30 -- Bonjour my blueberry cheesecakes! What's up with you this dry Friday morning? I've been hounded by calls, asking how could I mistake Thursday for Wednesday. Thanks to the daily grind, all days seem the same to me... so what's the big deal? Some suggested I take a break this weekend, but I dare not leave this column to Madhu my Mottu Maid and Rapchik Rajni, for I shudder to think what embarrassments I might have to face on my return.
So before I digress any more, read on for your dose of daily goss.
Now, I've just been informed that the shoot of Peepli Live in Badwai village in Madhya Pradesh didn't start off as smoothly as director Anusha Rizvi hoped it would. Meaning, she wanted to capture the villagers going about their regular lives in the backdrop while she filmed her actors performing their part according to the storyline.
According to my birdy from Badwai, the gaonwallahs felt that Rizvi was just another filmmaker making a documentary on India's rural life and didn't believe her even when she said that she was directing a movie for Aamir Khan's production company. They refused to believe that Aamir would actually produce a movie like that, I'm told.
Apparently, that's when Rizvi made an SOS call to her nirmata, Khan, and told him of the situation at the location. Bas, aur kya? Within the next few days, the actor-producer landed in Badwai, much to the shock and surprise of the villagers... And that's when the gaonwallahs agreed to participate in the shooting of Peepli Live. Chalo, badhiya hai!
