Slum dwellers wonder about Slumdog Millionaire's success
There was a time when nobody ever wanted visit the slums nor even utter the word 'slum' as it was considered as more taboo than taboo itself. Enter Danny Boyle, the man with the Golden wand, and thus, the taboo related with slums not just became history but also created history at the Oscars, no less, courtesy Slumdog Millionaire! The renowned cartoonist Morparia is the latest one to be 'encashing' on the global popularity of the film Slumdog Millionaire. This cartoon comes after the worldwide success of a film that paved India's space straight into the global cinema space. While each and every person concerned with this film is busy answering the (congratulatory) calls from everywhere, this cartoon depicts the causal morning conversation that the slum dwellers have while answering to the Nature's call! One such character asks the other as to 'Don't you feel proud to be an Indian today?' The image and the quote speak for itself as to what the cartoonist is trying to say!
